Belonging at Work: A Key Driver for Enhanced Engagement and Health

IBI's latest research highlights the importance of fostering a sense of belonging among employees. IBI conducted two surveys to assess the importance of workplace DEI initiatives to employers and to measure engagement, belonging, and employee well-being. Individuals who feel a sense of belonging exhibit higher levels of mental, physical, and social health.

Highlights from IBI's analysis:

- 91% of employers currently offer DEI programs
- 80% of employers view their DEI efforts positively
- 67% of employers have intentional strategies for cultural sensitivity and inclusivity
- 30% of employees do not feel like they belong at work-- certain groups such as women, Gen Z, racial minorities, LGBTQIA+, and caregivers feel excluded more often
- 22% of employers sponsor employee resource groups, which have a quantifiable impact on employee engagement
