Research Publications
IBI conducts a variety of cutting-edge studies on health and productivity topics each year, examining what employers are doing and what is working. We publish the findings in practical, easy-to-read reports to help employers and benefits suppliers with real-world applications. We run the gamut from short Research Insights on work by IBI and others to full IBI research reports on issues no one else is exploring. Short briefs are available to the general public.
IBI’s research involves the health-related productivity effects of interventions of all kinds. We feature in-house research and analysis as well as IBI reports on work done by academic partners, research collaborators and IBI fellowship grantees. Our research makes health relevant to the business needs of employers and the personal needs of employees.
IBI’s president Dr. Thomas Parry offers timely, thought-provoking analyses on selected health and productivity research and IBI databases. They show the implications of the research for real-world issues.
Our Employer Profile Series provides a roadmap to employer interventions and their effect on absence and disability. Most of these case studies review employers’ disability management interventions and summarize the absence and disability savings that result.
Periodically, IBI publishes tips from employers that showcase effective, practical interventions to encourage employee health and productivity. The purpose is to share replicable, proven tactical steps an employer can take to make a difference.
IBI’s research agenda is determined by its members and approved by the Board of Directors. Our work is a combination of research and analysis by internal staff as well as partnered research with others.
