IBI Program Specific Benchmarking
IBI offers the largest single-source benchmarking database in the U.S. spanning disability, FML and workers’ compensation programs.
If you need decision support on one or more of your absence/disability programs, this solution compares your organization’s program results to industry peers to help you identify successes and opportunities.
The program gathers and individually reports results for:
- short-term disability
- long-term disability
- workers’ compensation
- family and medical leave
You will be able to compare the fundamentals - incidence, duration and cost - along with lost productivity, plan cost drivers and related business impact.
IBI has been the most comprehensive, single-source occupational and non-occupational absence and disability benchmarking data collector and reporter for the past nine years.
In our 2008 program we work with our 13 Data Consortium companies and individual employers to amass data based on nationally standardized definitions, with online access to benchmarks based on 27,000 employer benefits programs and almost 3 million claims. Reports can be generated for more than 600 benefits-program industry groups, down to the 4-digit SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) code level.
So that employer-level benchmarks are consistent and comparable across all Data Consortium companies - a critical step in ensuring solid benchmarks - IBI has developed and applied a consistent claims aggregation methodology.
Data Consortium companies that contributed data for our 2008 program include:
- Aetna
- Broadspire, LLC
- Cambridge Integrated Services Group, Inc.
- CIGNA
- Crawford
- Liberty Mutual Insurance Company
- Matrix/Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company
- Metropolitan Life Insurance Company
- Nationwide Better Health
- Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc.
- The Hartford
- The Prudential Insurance Company of America
- Wellpoint Life and Disability
IBI benchmarking participants are not required to be trained or certified in standardized data and metric definitions. IBI does, however, include standardized definitions in its benchmarking program. IBI embeds standardized definitions in its data collection instruments and reports standardized metrics.
